Upstairs features vaulted ceilings, large open concept living area and large doors that open to patio on front and backside of the house for optimal entertaining. The majority of boathouses on the harbor at West End were built over 70 years ago and have questionable support structures and pilings that have subsided and deteriorated over time. All these issues were addressed when Boathouse #20 was built in 2000. The engineers designed it with a 7 I beam support structure which gave the ability to level and raise the first and second floors higher than other boathouses. This innovative system also added an additional two feet of ceiling high on the second floor. The underwater supporting pilings and I beam flanges are incased in the same underwater concrete used in bridge construction for extra strength and to eliminate any piling deterioration. Zinc plates were then attached to all supporting I beams to deter any underwater electrolysis corrosion. The first 4 feet of the lower level is made up of waterproof materials. All walls are supported by heavy duty steel studs coated with epoxy. The roof is constructed of high gage heavy duty Galvalume panels with stainless steel gutters that run from front to rear on both sides. This boathouse comes with a 5000 lbs. boat hoist and 40-foot wet slip with pears on both sides.
