David Abner Smith is the owner and Managing Director of Dorian Bennett Sotheby's International Realty, with listings and clients throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. For over 20 years, teamed with Ernesto Caldeira, David has led the firm in sales. Working with clients who demand the best, his efforts are focused on providing empathetic service both to buyers and to sellers.


A native of Woodville, Mississippi, David graduated from Ole Miss in Oxford. He owns and operates a guest-house in Woodville where he received the Mississippi Heritage Trust Preservation Award of Merit. He has completed a number of historic restorations, including several federal rehabilitation tax credit projects in Mississippi and Louisiana. David has owned, sold, and managed properties in New Orleans for over 25 years.


David has served on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Heritage Trust and as Chairman of the statewide jury of the "Ten Most Endangered Historic Sites" in Mississippi. He has served as state-wide Chairman of the Association of Local Historic Preservation Officials and was a member of the Board of Aldermen for the Town of Woodville and past Chairman of the Woodville Historic Preservation Commission. He is the volunteer museum director of the Wilkinson County Museum and serves on its Board of Directors. David is a member of the New Orleans Preservation Resource Center and the New Orleans Museum of Art. He is Past Warden of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and is a supporter of several local nonprofits, including the NO AIDS Task Force and the LASPCA.


David owns a hospitality group of six restaurants and lives in New Orleans' Central Business District. He is well-versed in all aspects of hospitality operations and commercial and residential real estate sales, leasing, and property management.
