The World of Contemporary Art Concept ART INDEX is a compelling, informative and engaging television series of half hour shows about contemporary art. ART INDEX places contemporary art in context, demystifies and illuminates its creative process, and articulates the ways in which it impacts our culture at large. ART INDEX features artists and art professionals who demonstrate the knowledge and the breadth of artistic practice in the region, the nation and across the globe. ART INDEX covers all artistic genres and schools of artistic thought. ART INDEX presents artists and arts professionals of all races, ages, genders and approaches to art.
Mission
ART INDEX: 1 Familiarizes all public television audiences with contemporary visual art and artists 2 Increases public knowledge about the relevance of contemporary art 3 Articulates the relevance of contemporary art to broader ideas, current events, and local and national concerns 4 Provides materials and resources about contemporary art for use in museums, libraries, community organizations, art centers and galleries, schools, colleges and universities. 5 Educates and informs all audiences about the importance of art as an economic engine; as a viable business, and as a vital part of a robust and healthy society.
